Meet Derek
Faith formed through surrender and service.
In his forties, Derek took an evangelism class to become better equipped to share the gospel. During the class, he became convicted that he did not truly know Christ. In that season, he came to understand that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone, according to Scripture alone. He trusted in Christ and later received believer’s baptism.
His ministry experience spans street evangelism, preaching, praise bands, youth and men’s small groups, recovery and discipleship work, and international missions. He founded Evangelism Outfitters and the Men’s First Saturday Hang, a discipleship and recovery group, before founding Resurgence Ministry to Men.
Derek’s calling is strengthened by gifts in preaching, leadership, teaching, encouragement, service, and empathy. He brings those gifts together to help men move from isolation and compromise toward confession, responsibility, brotherhood, and faithful action.
